HaruStar is a personal daily-review app for iOS and Android, developed by Minseok Song / KEYPLE. Give your day a star rating, add an optional review and selected photos, and revisit your records. This is the official introduction and support page, including information about optional Google Drive access.
1. A short review of your day
Keep your daily ratings, text, selected photos and tags on your device. Revisit recorded days in weekly, monthly and yearly views; days without records are excluded from averages. There is no public feed, ranking or AI analysis of your private records. Basic recording does not require app registration or Google sign-in.
As of October 5, 2026, the app and Pro sales are being prepared. This page does not announce a store release or a price. Features and service availability depend on the installed version.
2. Free features and lifetime Pro
- Basic local recording does not require Google connection.
- Google account connection, restoring a Drive backup and deleting backup-history entries do not require Pro.
- Creating a Google Drive backup and generating an Excel XLSX export require Pro in the current implementation.
Pro is intended as a one-time lifetime purchase, not an automatically renewing subscription. Actual store products and sales are not ready yet. When offered, the price and payment details will appear in the store purchase screen. Read the HaruStar Terms of Use for purchase, restoration and refund information. Google Drive connection alone does not activate Pro.
3. Connect Google only if you want Drive backup
Before connecting, read the HaruStar Privacy Policy. Open Settings, find the record-storage section and select Google Drive backup, then choose the connect button. Google sign-in is optional and uses the connected account's identifier and email to identify the account. The app requests per-file Drive access, drive.file, rather than access to read every document in your Drive.
Backups transfer directly from your device to your own HaruStar Backups folder in Google Drive. There is no separate developer backup server. This is manual backup and restoration, not automatic synchronization or an upload that resumes after the app closes. Availability depends on the app's Google configuration and account permissions; this page does not claim Google verification approval.
4. Make and manage a Drive backup
If you have Pro, choose whether to include photos before starting a backup. Saved reviews, ratings, detailed rating categories and tags are included. Drafts, reminders, theme preferences, purchase status and credentials are excluded. Choosing to exclude photos changes the backup copy, not your current local photos.
New backups contain review JSON, optional shared photo files and a final manifest. Verified matching photos can be reused to avoid repeated uploads. The manifest is uploaded and verified last; check the completion result before assuming your records are backed up. Keep the app open during transfer. You can leave the backup page while the app remains open, but this is not OS background synchronization.
After successful verification, the app attempts to retain the latest two verified backups and moves older app backups to Drive Trash. Cleanup failures or unsupported or damaged backups can leave additional copies. Deleting a history entry moves the selected backup to Trash; shared files can remain until a later successful backup cleans unused files. Manage Trash separately in Google Drive.
5. Restore, disconnect or remove data
Restoring verifies a selected backup before replacing saved records. Existing drafts are preserved. A backup created without photos restores records without those photos; review the warning before confirming. A verification failure or conflicting local change prevents applying the replacement. Older Drive ZIP backups remain supported for restoration compatibility only; the current app has no manual ZIP file export/import menu.
Disconnecting signs out of Google on this device. It does not delete Drive backups or revoke every Google permission. You can revoke access in Google account connections; existing files still need to be managed separately in Drive and its Trash. Deleting a local review or uninstalling the app also does not delete previously stored cloud backups.
Backups have no additional app password or app-level encryption. Protect your Google account and avoid sharing backup files or folders unintentionally. System-level device backups are separate and depend on operating-system and account settings. The developer cannot remotely retrieve your device-only records or delete your Drive files.
6. Export Excel files for your own analysis
With Pro, open Settings and select Excel export. Choose all records, a year or a custom period, and optionally include detailed ratings and weekly, monthly and yearly summaries. The XLSX file is generated on your device and passed to the destination you choose in the system share sheet.
Photo files and drafts are not included. XLSX is not a restorable backup. File creation does not confirm successful storage in another app or service; check the destination and keep shared copies private. No additional Google permission is needed for file generation.
7. Troubleshooting and purchase help
- Drive connection: check your connection, the selected Google account and its permission settings. If the installed version cannot connect, contact support; do not bypass browser or account security warnings.
- Backup failure: check free device space, Google Drive capacity and network stability. Verify the backup result before removing local records.
- Restore failure: confirm the Google account and backup are for this app. A failed verification leaves current saved records unchanged.
- Missing Pro access, when sales are available: use purchase restoration with the original Apple or Google store account. Drive sign-in is separate. Cross-store purchase transfer is not guaranteed.
- Reminders and widgets: check device permissions and settings. Record information may be visible on your lock screen or home screen; control notification previews and widget placement.
For refunds, follow applicable law and the original store's procedure: Apple refund help or Google Play refund information. No price or live sales are announced here.
